UFC 138: Leben vs. Munoz will headline first UFC 5 Round Non Title Fight

| July 19, 2011 | 2 Replies

Add an intriguing November Middleweight Clash to the overflowing list of recent fight announcements in the past handful of days. The UFC announced today that Chris “The Crippler” Leben and Mark “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Munoz will headline a free TV card on November 5th in Birmingham, England.

Their fight will be the first non-title main event for the promotion that will be a five round fight. Should the fight actually get out of the third round, neither fighter has ever fought in a fourth or fifth round in their career.

Leben (26-7) bounced back from a first round TKO defeat against Brian Stann at UFC 125 with a first round KO of Wanderlei Silva earlier this month at UFC 132. Munoz (11-2) recently defeated Demian Maia by unanimous decision at UFC 131 in June and since moving down to middleweight following his UFC debut the “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” has gone 6-1.

Expect more additions to the only UK card of the 2011 Zuffa campaign in the coming days and weeks ahead.
