Friday night’s XFC 18 was part of the MMA fans sensory overload that saw three events going on at nearly the same time. Starting after the other two events had already been going; XFC 18 aired its seven bout main card live on HDNet from the Nashville Municiple Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.
The main card saw several bouts end in the opening frame and only had one fight go the distance. In the night’s main event, Reggie Pena defeated former UFC fighter John Salter who was looking to get back inside the Octagon with a win. Perhaps looking ahead Salter was choked out by Pena in as the second round began.
Other notable wins were Heather Jo Clark making short work of the late replacement Avery Vilche and heavyweight Scott Barrett squeaked out a decision win against Gabriel Salinas-Jones in the XFC 18 co-main event.
Before the main card went live on HDNet, XFC 18 put had a four bout preliminary card.
