Two successful Debuts highlight Titan Fighting Championship 24
Last night’s Titan Fighting Championship 24, which aired live on AXS TV, marked two different successful debuts at the top of the card. Former UFC welterweight and Catchweight specialist Anthony Johnson made his debut in the light heavyweight division while Jiu-Jitsu master Braulio Estima made his ever Mixed Martial Arts appearance.
After battling weight issues that got him released from the UFC, Johnson came in one pound “under” for his 205 lbs. main event bout against Esteves Jones. Johnson looked a bit on the small side but despite that he appeared to be the stronger fighter and was by far the faster of the two. After nearly finishing the fight at the end of the opening round, Johnson sealed the deal in the second round with a TKO victory. A successful light heavyweight debut for Johnson, who appears to have found his home and will look to mark his mark on the division.
In the co-main event of Titan Fighting Championship 24, Braulio Estima made a successful transition from the jiu-jitsu mats to the MMA cage with a first round submission over Chris Holland. Estima got rocked right away but rebounded to get the fight to the canvas and dominated. Estima looked for an arm but settled for the neck of Holland and locked in a tight arm-triangle submission to put him to sleep.
Two debuts, two impressive victories. The rest of the Titan Fighting Championship 24 main card was as follows:
