Fan favorite Mike Swick, has signed a four fight extension with the UFC and will face Matt Brown at UFC on Fox 5 on December 8th at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington. Swick spread the news via. his twitter account (@officialswick). Swick last fought in August against DeMarques Johnson, earning his second knockout of the night honors with a second round KO.

Just a few years ago Mike Swick was on a fast track up the welterweight division, and then in 2010 he was diagnosed with a stomach condition that keep him out of the fighting game for almost two years. Now with one fight under his belt and some new confidence, Swick is ready to go. He is making a quick stop over to the Philippines, and apon return he will begin his next training camp.

Brown is  coming off a win against Luis Ramos back in June and has put together a three fight winning streak in 2012. The Ultimate Fighter 7 fighter has surprisingly fought 13 times inside the Octagon, going 8-5 with six of those wins by stoppage.

Another fight that has just been announced is a heavyweight fight between two heavy-handed fighters, Brendan Schaub and the fast rising star Lavar Johnson. At first glance this fight has the potential to have one of the fastest Ko’s in UFC history. Both men are quick and have power that never ends. Brendan’s only problem is that he jumps in a bit too fast and leaves himself open. Even in all three of his KO loses, Schaub has had his opponent in trouble with big punches.

Johnson has won two of his three fights in the UFC. His last opponent, Stefan Struve won by submission, but not until Lavar put some serious leather on him. Lavar knows he does not have the best ground game, but if you want to stand and bang with him, you may be in trouble.
