There has been a change in the MMA winds, have you noticed them? The positive vibe the “fastest growing sport” once had has changed and it has not been for the good either. Talk over social media during MMA events have seen more and more talk of conspiracies and fights being fixed that are threatening the momentum the sport has worked so hard to build.

Last night’s episode of UFC Tonight was filled with breaking news and busted rumors. Amongst the news of Aldo v Pettis actually happening and Demetrious Johnson being injured was a response from UFC President Dana White regarding the former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans.
The term Super Fight is being tossed around in the UFC these days at an alarming rate. There isn’t an interview with UFC president Dana White where he isn’t asked about the potential super fight. Whether its Georges St-Pierre vs. Anderson Silva or Anderson Silva vs. Jon Jones, those darn two words just won’t disappear.
After Roy nelson threw Mike Ricci under the bus in last week’s episode on The Ultimate Fighter 16, things get started off this week with more fallout. Mike Hill is upset that “his boy” called him out and is now ready to throw down with his fellow Canadian. Ricci on the other hand just wanted to defeat Team Nelson’s number two pick after already knocking off their first pick.
With a lead in of the UFC on FX 5, tonight’s episode of The Ultimate Fighter saw two more fighters enter the Octagon and one advancing to the next round. Heading into tonight the teams were tied up with one win each and Team Nelson had the control.
The last 45 days have been odd to say the least for the UFC and Strikeforce. The two ZUFFA owned promotions have continued to be hit with injuries, each have had to cancel an event and the UFC has witnessed fighters actually turning down fights. The latter of which started this bizarre world the UFC has been living in for the past month and a half and other fighters appear to be following suit.
