Former UFC Fighters line the inaugural WMMA Fight Card

As Mixed Martial Arts continues to grow and expand its reach, new promotions bring thirsty fans more and more MMA action. Worldwide Mixed Martial Arts is one of those new promotions and they will be holding their inaugural event on Saturday, March 31st at the Don Haskins Center, El Paso, Texas. The event will feature several former UFC fighters and proceeds from the event will go to the Wounded Warriors foundation.

This charitable event will be headlined by a super heavyweight bout between Sean McCorkle and Brian Heden. McCorkle (16-2) fought three times in the UFC where he suffered the only two losses in his career. He quickly returned to the cage following his release from the UFC and has since won six fights in a row, all being first round submission wins. Heden (17-10) hasn’t been nearly as active as his opponent having only two fights since September of 2010. He’ll enter the main event having lost three of his last four and is coming off a submission loss to Jason Walraven.

The night’s co-main event will be a welterweight clash between two MMA veterans is Thomas Denny and Karo Parisyan. Denny (27-19) has been fighting professional since 1999 and has faced several top fighters for the Maximum Fighting Champion and King of the Cage. Parisyan (19-8, 1nc) is a former top welterweight in the UFC who holds wins over Nick Diaz, Chris Lytle and Matt Serra. Having gone just 1-3 since being released, Parisyan looks to get back to his winning ways.

The rest on the card features notable names, Drew Fickett, Rodney Wallace, Lyle Beerbohm, Darrill Schoonover and Paul Buentello. The six bout main card will air live on pay-per-view starting at 6pm PT / 7pm MT / 9pm ET for $29.95. WMMA has partnered with the Armed Forces Network (AFN) to reach the approximately one million service members and their families deployed in 175 countries around the world.

My brain child is MMAValor, something I had wanted to do for a long time and finally it’s here. Been an MMA fan since TUF season one (play catch up all the time) and the obsession started to grow like a weed and as the sport grows so does the love for the sport. I’m a jack of all trades, a very organized person that rides an emotional roller coaster daily.
