Demetrious Johnson and Eddie Wineland look to get themselves back into the win column against one another to kick the year off right. The UFC today announced the two bantamweights, who are both coming off losses will square off on January 28th at UFC on FOX 2.

UFC on FOX 2 “Evans vs. Davis” takes place at United Center in Chicago, and will be co-headliners by light heavyweights Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis and middleweights Chael Sonnen vs. Mark Munoz.

Johnson (9-2 MMA) fought against Dominick Cruz last time out for the bantamweight strap and dropped a unanimous decision. He had won four in a row prior to the loss, including a unanimous decision win over former champ Miguel Torres. Even though he’s held his own in the division “Mighty Mouse” might be better served as a flyweight (125 lbs.) when the UFC decides to form the division.

Wineland (18-8-1) has lost two in a row to snap his own four fight winning streak. The former WEC champion is 0-2 inside the Octagon, albeit those defeat have dropped have come against team Alpha male fighters Joseph Benavidez and Urijah Faber. With his UFC career possible on the line, it doesn’t get any easier for him with Johnson up next.

Along with the co-headliners the UFC on FOX 2 fight card is rounding out nicely, here is how the card currently looks:

205 lbs.: Phil Davis vs. Rashad Evans

185 lbs.: Mark Munoz vs. Chael Sonnen

135 lbs.: Demetrious Johnson vs. Eddie Wineland

155 lbs.: Evan Dunham vs. Paul Sass

155 lbs.: Michael Johnson vs. Cody McKenzie

145 lbs.: George Roop vs. Cub Swanson

265 lbs.: Jon Olav Einemo vs. Mike Russow
