Big names fill upcoming Tachi Palace card

Tachi Palace Fights in association with Gladiator Challenge present “High Stakes” on Thursday September 9, 2010. The event will take place in Lemoore, California at the Tachi Palace Casino and features a stacked card of notable fighters.

Headlining the card is former WEC light heavyweight champ and local legend Doug Marshall (12-3). He’ll be facing MMA Veteran and TUF 11 fighter Kyacey Uscola (18-15) in a middleweight showdown. The names don’t just stop there, in the nights co-main event is former WEC lightweight champ Rob MCCullough (18-6) vs. former UFC and TUF 5 fighter Corey Hill (4-3).

This was obviously a crazy season as far as injuries go.  This episode shows Nick Rings knee injury.  Nick became a friend of mine over the season and told me he had 3 knee surgeries prior to the show.  Ive only had one knee surgery myself and mine isn’t the same, so I can only imagine how Nicks are after multiple operations.

Spoiler alert! Who made it in the TUF 11 house?

Warning do not read this if you don’t want to know what happens Wednesday Night during the first episode of The Ultimate Fighter Season 11. Did Spike today let the cat out of the bag by posting the picture with the 14 guys by their coaches? We all should know by now the cast is made up of 28 fighters as the UFC has been running promos for the show now for a few weeks. Those 28 fighters will have to fight their way into the house as had been done in prior seasons, so 14 fighters will be living in the house and the teams will be 7 on 7.  There will be 7 first round fights leaving 7 winners moving onto the next round, here is this years twist. The coaches will then choose 2 fighters to fight in a wild card fight to fill that 8th spot in the 2nd round. The 8 will fight leaving us with 4 fighters left in the semi-finals with the winners in the two semi’s moving onto fight live for the 6 figure contract.

If you looked at the resume of Joseph Henle you probably wouldn’t think MMA fighter. With a Master’s degree in Business Administration from California Lutheran University, most people would assume he’d be a business man. Well think again, Joseph “Leonidas” Henle is a professional fighter with a 2-0 record out of Big John McCarthy’s Ultimate Training Academy in Valencia, CA. An athlete all his life Henle won a state championship in Tae-Kwon-Do as a young child, played High School and College football but went to school looking to be a financial planner. As everyone knows life doesn’t always play out the way you plan it and Henle’s no different.
