The UFC Fight Pass hosted its first live event early this morning with UFC Fight Night 34 from inside the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. The card was built for the Asian market and thus was very heavy with names unfamiliar to fans in the states.

This week in MMA saw the first TUF 17 fighter advance; Bellator opened its lightweight tournament and Jose Aldo defended his UFC featherweight title. But as you’ll see by the links in this week’s Independent link club, there was more to the week then just that.

ONE Fighting Championship’s inaugural event was witnessed by a sellout crowd at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and millions more watching around the world on an internet stream. There were champions from all over the world on display but in the end it was two Filipinos who stole the show.
