UFC featherweight Chad Mendes will fight one more time in 2012 as the Team Alpha Male fighter will reportedly face Hacran Dias at UFC on FX 6. The sixth FX card will take place in the states on December 14th from the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Australia. The event is also expected to feature the final bouts of The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes reality series.
Chad Mendes (12-1) started out his professional Mixed Martial Arts career with 11 consecutive wins that would earn him a title shot against Jose Aldo at UFC 142. Mendes would face the Nova Uniao champion in his backyard and suffered his first defeat. He’d bounce back though in July with a first round knockout of Cody McKenzie at UFC 148 and will now look to continue his way back up the divisional ranks.
Hacran Dias (21-1) is a teammate of Aldo at Nova Uniao and will be making his second UFC appearance. Dias made his Octagon debut at UFC 147 where he defeated Yuri Alcantara by unanimous decision. That win was the ninth in a row for the Brazilian.
The fight card will also feature a middleweight bout between Hector Lombard and Rousimar Palhares as well as the coaches of The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes George Sotiropoulos and Ross Pearson. UFC on FX 6 will actually take place on December 15th in Australia.
