TUF 16 Neil Magney vs. Jon Manley Likely for UFC 157Ultimate Fighter 16 semifinalist Neil Magney and Jon Manley might not be fighting in Saturday’s TUF 16 final, but the two appear likely to still get their official UFC debut. The two welterweights that were just one fight away from the final will face each other in February at UFC 157, this according to MMAJunkie.

Team Carwin member Neil Magney (7-1) rode three unanimous decisions on his way to his semifinal match with teammate Mike Ricci. The two were very familiar with each other and Magney looked tentative, which would lead to Ricci scoring a knocked out of Magney in the first round. Magney was the fourth pick for Team Carwin and secured the team’s first win.

Team Nelson fighter Jon Manley (7-1) was the only fighter to finish a fight prior to the KO by Ricci over Magney. His submission of James Chaney in the first round was impressive and earned him a fight with Joey Rivera in the quarterfinals, which he narrowly won via majority decision. Manley ran into the strong wrestling of Colton Smith in the semifinals that ended his run in The Ultimate Fighter 16. Despite being the fifth pick for Team Nelson, Manley quickly became one of the favorites to win the six figure contract.

While the two didn’t make it to the finals they are currently the only other two fighters from the reality show to get a call back into the UFC Octagon. Many none TUF winners have gone on to do better than the actually winners and Neil Magney and Jon Manley will get their chance to shine on the big stage on February 23 in Anaheim, California.

The UFC 157 PPV is scheduled to be headlined by the first defense of the newly crowned women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey against Liz Carmouche. Magney and Manley will most likely appear on the night’s preliminary card but come UFC 157 it’s Team Carwin versus Team Nelson one more time!
