UFC Signs Jeff Curran to face Scott Jorgenson at UFC 137

It’s been seven long years since Jeff Curran last stepped into a UFC Octagon to ply his trade.  He’s had highs and lows in those seven years, but he’s back.  He will be making his return at UFC 137 in Las Vegas to take on a very talented Bantamweight in Scott Jorgensen.

Jeff Curran’s last fight in the UFC was all the way back at UFC 47 in January of 2004.  He was on the bitter end of a unanimous decision that night to Matt Serra and was released after that fight.  Fast forward 7 years and more than 25 fights and Curran is back in business, facing Scott Jorgensen (12-4) who has won five of his last six fights and fought for the Bantamweight Title just eight months ago.

On the other side of the coin, Curran is 4-5 in his last 9 fights, but recently won 2 in a row and four of five.  He will bring a ton of experience and a 33-13-1 record into the Octagon with him.  It’s do or die for Curran who signed a multi-fight deal with Zuffa.  He has to look good in this fight or it might just be one and done again for the Bantamweight from Illinois.

The UFC 137 card is headlined by the Welterweight Championship clash between Georges St Pierre and Nick Diaz.  It’s a loaded card, here’s how it looks.
