Tough Road to the finals ahead for remaining TUF Live Fighters

TUF Live has entered the quarterfinals and if the eight remaining fighters thought things were tough before, they haven’t seen anything yet. With just three episodes left before the TUF Live finale on June 1st, the lightweight that can win three fights over four consecutive weeks will become the next Ultimate Fighter.

Heading into the quarterfinals, Team Faber holds a small 5-3 lead over Team Cruz, but that and the fighters themselves have been overshadowed this week when news broke that Dominick Cruz had injured his knee and would be unable to defend his bantamweight title against Urijah Faber on July 7th at UFC 148. What happens to Cruz on the show and whom Faber will now fight at UFC 148 are still being figured out, but the show must go on!

It all starts this Friday with two of the four quarterfinal bouts as Joe Protor (Team Faber) takes on James Vick (Team Cruz) and Mike Chiesa (Team Faber) faces Justin Lawrence (Team Cruz). The winners will get a week off before the semifinals as they watch the remaining four-quarterfinalist square off next week. Team Faber members Al Iaquinta, Chris Saunders and Andy Ogle, along with Vinc Pichel of Team Cruz will all step into the Octagon with the last two semifinal spots on the line.

They won’t get much rest though as the remaining four fighters will face off in the final episode of the season, just one week before one of them will be crowned the TUF Live winner. Three fights in four weeks is a tall order but with a six-figure contract in the UFC on the line, you won’t hear any complaining from the final eight fighters.

Tune in this Friday at 7pm ET / 10pm PT on FX for episode 10 of The Ultimate Fighter: Live and see who advances to the semifinals.

My brain child is MMAValor, something I had wanted to do for a long time and finally it’s here. Been an MMA fan since TUF season one (play catch up all the time) and the obsession started to grow like a weed and as the sport grows so does the love for the sport. I’m a jack of all trades, a very organized person that rides an emotional roller coaster daily.
