UFC on FUEL TV 3: Korean Zombie vs. Poirier Predictions

MMA fans struggling to get through the week get a boost to help them make it to the weekend Tuesday’s UFC on Fuel TV 3: Korean Zombie vs. Poirier card. The 12 bout fight card will be split in half; six preliminary fights will steam on Facebook prior to the six main card bouts that will air on FUEL TV.

To some the UFC on FUEL TV card might be underwhelming but when it’s all said and done those people will likely find themselves pleasantly surprised.

At the top the card is a featherweight match-up that will likely determine the number one contender for the winner of the UFC 149 main event between Jose Aldo and Erik Koch. The “Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung (12-3), coming off a seven second knockout of Mark Hominick will take on the streaking Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier (12-1). With 20 finishes between the two the odds would say this fight won’t see the judges’ scorecards.

The UFC on FUEL TV 3 co-main event features the Ultimate Fighter season 7 winner, Amir Sadollah as he looks to rebound from a lost to Duane Ludwig last August. His opponent will be Jorge Lopez, who is also coming off a loss in his UFC debut last September to Justin Edwards. A bout that probably should be the night’s co-main event is the lightweight clash between Donald Cerrone and Jeremy Stephens that should produce the fight of the night.

The remaining three main card bouts include a bantamweight bout between Jeff Hougland and Yves Jabouin, a light heavyweight fight between Fabio Maldonado and Igor Pokrajac and a middleweight bout between Tom Lawlor and Jason MacDonald to opening the FUEL TV broadcast.

Last weekend’s UFC on FOX 3 card was a wash, prediction-wise for me as I went just 6-6 to bring the overall record thus far at 56-47. The UFC on Fuel TV 3 card offers fans 12 tough fights to call, but after sorting through the numbers and throwing darts at the wall, here’s the UFC on Fuel TV 3 predictions.
